Description

"Snowball Express" was the name of the Transport Command's aerial route from Presque Isle to Europe during World War II.
On the 1st anniversary of the "Snowball Express," the command noted it had made 1,800 crossings of the North Atlantic, evacuated more than 7,000 litter-bound patients from Europe, and transported 9 million pounds of high priority freight, mail, and passengers oveseas, and 5 million back to Presque Isle.
