Description

From 1951 to 1954 the 74th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron (F I S) flew F-86, F-89 and F-94 fighter aircraft at Presque Isle AFB.

Marla English was a beauty pageant winner and model in the early 1950s. She appeared in several movies, most notably Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window" in 1954.

English visited Presque Isle Air Force Base in 1952 and autographed the nose of one of the 74th's aircraft with:
"To my 'Tiger men' of the 74th F I S, Warmest regards on those long, cold alerts. Marla English"
